Martian Sex and Interdimensional Exogamy

Aliens, disincarnate beings, angels, disembodied spirits, and a coterie of other ambiguous characters have always occupied a very Fortean space in the annals of history. The very space they occupy disrupts the Cartesian/Newtonian paradigm, the widespread domination of rationalism, and the wholly expected events of day-to-day living. This disruption is indisputable. They come from either a higher dimensional grid of consciousness, a lower chthonic realm, or neither. They could be wayfaring in a cosmic river that traverses two dimensions (ours and another). They could be denizens of a galactic empire far more advanced than the technologically crazed one we have built. Whatever the case may be, their enigmatic presence in our myths, folkloric tales, and subjective reports will continue to baffle us.

Their presence in our “alternative history” texts, myths, and folkloric tales becomes even more baffling and confounding when they try to touch us, sexually. Receiving an informative noetic download from an interdimensional being is one thing, but an erotic embrace is another. The very notion of an erotically charged meeting with a being from another dimension is anathema to our monogamous cultural zeitgeist. If some people can’t swallow the idea of bisexuality, homosexuality, or any other form of alternative sexuality, how are they going to swallow the idea of “interdimensional sexuality”? They aren’t. But just because they can’t swallow it doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened or will not happen again. It just means that, for the majority, it will remain creepy, obscure, immoral, and mind-boggling.

In Stephen Beyer’s epic and comprehensive book on ayahuasca-based shamanism, “Singing to the Plants,” there is an autobiographical account of an encounter with a “green woman” who just may have wanted more than a good conversation. After imbibing the thick, acrid entheogen, Beyer “…saw a beautiful green woman, lying back on a couch or bed; her arms and fingers were long; her body was covered in some kind of gauzy material. The moment was intense, erotically charged. I leaned forward to kiss her. Whoa! said my rational mind. Is this alright?”

Is it? If the rational mind says no, but a deeper mind says yes, what does one do? Does one take the risk?

In “Singing to the Plants,” Beyer also talks about the spiritual existence of the yacuruna, or water people, in relationship to the Amazonian mestizos. “Mestizos firmly believe that dolphins seek intercourse with human beings. A menstruating woman in a boat is in particular danger; a dolphin will ram her boat and overturn it, dragging her to the river bottom for sexual intercourse, where the woman may drown.” These same dolphins sometimes shapeshift into human beings and attend boisterous mestizo parties. They love to seduce woman during these festivities, and lure them to their watery abode so coitus can take place.

Under the risqué category of “interdimensional sex,” the pallid and bug-eyed Greys find their place. Some people believe they are working on a breeding program and human beings are the ones they would like to breed with. Terrifying subjective reports regarding this breeding program are rife. People are abducted, usually while in a somnolent trance state, and taken to the Greys compound somewhere in the cosmos. Various tests are run by the Greys, some of them painful and violating. The abductees are sometimes shown “hybrid children,” alien and human progeny, during their stay with the ambiguous Greys. They are then returned to their beds with no recollection of what just happened to them.

Terence McKenna once said, “Right here and now, one quanta away, there is a raging universe of active intelligence that is transhuman, hyperdimensional, and extremely alien.” When one minute change occurs in the neurochemical flux of the electric psyche, the world that is experienced is altered, suspended, twisted, or altogether replaced by another one. These minute alterations made in the psyche often unveil landscapes filled with exotic fauna. These entities are often described as being intelligent and strangely intelligible. A psionic form of communication takes place. In rare instances, a type of “psychic intercourse” takes place, and an orgasm is shared between two beings from two vastly different cultural backgrounds.

The provocative documentation surrounding the martian/human hieros gamos tells me that such a sexual partnership is possible. We have evolved to a point where we can alter our consciousness through hypnosis, hyperventilation, power plants, trance, or yogic techniques. These techniques sometimes take us to other dimensions where inexplicable and ineffable denizens and ecologies reside. If we can share an orgasm, a paroxysm of joy, with these folk, it tells me we are willing to share the deepest aspects of ourselves with them. Who knows…maybe in due time we will.

I am delighted that you have been enjoying my book Singing to the Plants. I thought that perhaps your readers might want to know that, in my encounter with the Green Lady, my rational mind won out, one factor being how I could possibly explain this to my wife. :-)

The story ends: "The woman faded away, leaving me with a feeling of relief and disappointment." In fact, I remain vaguely disappointed at my timidity even to this day. But perhaps my rational mind was right. Sometimes these relationships don't work out well, especially for the human. :-)

"Singing To The Plants" is a great book. I appreciate its candor and breadth. You treated the subject from a comprehensive, impartial, and balanced viewpoint. I like how you never exclaimed that ayahuasca is some miraculous universal medicine that will bring world peace. Although I think the medicine is about healing and inner peace, it also has other lessons to teach. These lessons sometimes reach deep into the shadows and contours of the psyche.

I also appreciate you talking about the erotic and sexual nature of ayahuasca in the book (aka the Green Woman). I've experienced this as well. The Green Woman always takes the form of curious, intelligent, and erotic insectoid creatures for me. Maybe I have some karmic connection to these beings? I don't know.

Thanks for stopping by.
