Our stubborn affinity to place objects into categories is utterly undermined, or altogether eradicated, thirty seconds into an intense Salvia high. What was once thought to be "within" or "without" is no longer apparent. The psyche transmogrifies into the salvia plant (see picture above), and the world itself becomes but an extension of the plant's imagination. The plant's vision, or at least the vision the plant wants to share with me, is kaleidoscopic in a way---energy shoots out of my eyes in curved, fractal formations and energy moves through me in curved, fractal formations. Unlike other hallucinogens that discombobulate the senses and heighten consciousness, Salvia seems to be all about the "absolute tactility of absolute space," which means it has little to do with the nature of time and more to do with the rhapsody and elan inherent in space, in the invisible and the visible, even in the spaces between spaces. Salvia, you could say, is the princess of absolute consciousness, and I personally welcome her with open arms.
