The sacred defender of language doesn’t wear
tights, or masks, nor does he fight crimes.
The sacred defender of language upholds the dharma
of the Word, and only the Word.
The sacred defender of language transmutes the obscenities
and vulgarities of the world into poetry, prose,
stanzas, koans, epigrams, limpid philosophies, light.
The sacred defender of language tells people
to stretch the limits of the profane.
The sacred defender of language paints with
a capacious imagination and an adamant heart.
The sacred defender of language knows symbols
can either heal or kill. Healing is paramount.
The sacred defender of language embraces
all dialects, vernaculars, tongues, and finds the best in them all.
The sacred defender of language acts conscientiously and
prudently when illusions flood the world with falsehoods.
The sacred defender of language sees no fault in the
dialect he/she doesn’t understand.
The sacred defender of language extols
the virtues of the elements, because he/she
knows language truly comes from them.
The sacred defender of language is needed
now more than ever.
The sacred defender of language,
along with other sacred defenders, shall help
resurrect the Immortal Word.
