Oh what great creatures cavort and repose
inside your spherical rose.
Oh what mountains you move with tectonic
shifts and magnanimous prose.
Oh what feats you accomplish within the span
of an hour.
Oh what melodies resound inside the webbed-walls
of your illustrious tower.
Oh what love you show the sleeping giants of history,
and their vast achievements of erstwhile glory.
Oh what luminescent truth you spread out across
the topographical letters of our modern story.
Oh you the barren one!
Oh you the productive one!
Oh you the virginal one!
Oh you the strumpet one!
This is the day we praise the life in you,
and the blood and milk you give without haste.
This is the day we acknowledge the light in you and,
if only for the passing of a day, feel your airy tongue and
the reality of One Taste.
