The world and the maelstrom of forces it
contains create, out of the insatiable need for novelty,
a greenhouse of experimentation wherein time and space
plant seeds.
It has always been so.
For billions of years.
Matter has valiantly strived to contort itself.
It has foraged for new angles and vistas.
Mind, that elusive Prime Mover that haunts the
folds of brain tissue, has strived to understand itself
through science
and art.
Their courtship is momentous.
Their clashing tongues engender the impossible:
salivating, synchronistic rubies of flesh-thought.
Putting aside the reality of Mind and Matter for a moment,
I would like to direct your attention towards another variable
In the evolutionary schema: The Bizarre.
It likes to hang out in the shade, mostly.
It survives on oxygen, protein, and glucose (I think?).
It is here to bamboozle the Mind and modify Matter through
mutagenesis.
Some theorists say it will one day get the upper hand
and force plants to migrate into the sky and humans
into honeycombs.
Others say it will change soil into talking crystal and monkeys into
prophets.
At the end of the day, when all has been said and done,
who amongst us can really refute them?
